Favicon

Anyone object to me creating a little favicon to replace the array of dots we have right now? It'll just be a simple little stylized "HT" I think.

Last time I tried to change the favicon was when a couple of you noticed that the forum went down. I was trying to change it to the ddo coin. I have re-uploaded the images I was using and they're in the ftp directory picture_library. I'm not touching it again ;)

Ah, I see the problem. It has to be a .ico file, and I don't think photoshop can save .ico files.

I can make .ico files...just tell me what jpg or gif you want me to convert and I'll upload it.

I found a plug in for photoshop that supported the .ico - I did upload the ones I was trying to work with in the picture gallery - hopefully someone can get further than I did

how does one view this picture gallery, or is it an Admin only thing?

Huh, I changed the favicon, but it didn't change anything at all.

Admin thing. If you'd like to help with the site though, I can send you the password info. Right now it's just Jules, lostinjapan, and Xaerth working behind the scenes.

Well, even though I replaced the old favicon with the new favicon of Jules, there's still no change. I don't get it....

I'm seeing the changed one - try clearing cache/history etc in your browser.

Its actually part of the ftp site, I could probably enable directory browsing on that folder which would give public access to the contents.

Let me know if this is something that's needed

It figures it'd be something as simple as clearing the cache.

I really hated stating the obvious - but so often people forget the browser is only showing an image of the site they want - until it realizes there's new content :)

I enabled directory browsing for the image directory on the ftp site. You can view the files that have been uploaded to the images directory here:

http://housetharashk.net/picture_library/

Basically its the location of all images for the website in general, including our forum.
