Dimension Door in DDO is implemented essentially as an escape ability and giving it to a primarily melee class that traditionally uses the ability to close to a target seemed a little bit strange.
Abundant Step is currently planned to be a horizontal "leap" that gives a monk the ability to get up next to a target, jump over larger than normally traversable chasms, or zip past enemies with less chance of being detected.
Edit: Kate was referring to an early version of the ability in that video.
