So, I've been toying with my marked halfling lately, and she plays out well, but she has some weak spots in her build (the lack of intimidate nearly entirely, for one; itd be pretty handy on her.), so I've been wondering what I could do to make her better all around; this is what I've come up with, any and all suggestions on tweaks/questions on the build would be appreciated. I can always use a good rethinking =P

Jorasco Enforcer, 4 Fighter/3 Paladin/9 Ranger (ultimately, likely, 6 Fighter/3 Paladin/11 Ranger)

Ending Specs:

HP: 342, likely, ignoring any extra tomes. (GFL, Minos, +6 CON), 387 with shroud item.

To Hit: 26/26/31/36, again, ignoring any gear aside from a +6 str, inclusive of rams might, no weapon + accounted for.

Intimidate: 43, realistically, w/o a +15 item, unbuffed. 45 good gear, 49 GH, 51 (or 52, never can figure it out) with bard song, 52 with voice, 53 with HoGF, 59 with a shroud item.

Aside from running the shroud til my eyes bleed, the stats seem more or less viable. The leveling would be the hard part, but its plausible, I think.

Thoughts? questions? comments?

By the by, the ultimate point of the build would be that it'd be able to tank/evasion tank bosses with intimidate, more or less, and be able to self heal itself to help out clerics. Included in the build is some devotion enhancments to make the healing portion a bit more plausible too.

Just wish i could fit in oversized twf and UMD =(

Be aware that a halfling initimidator is at a -4 size penalty. I don't know if you have that in your calculations since you didn't break it down.

Otherwise, looks like a fun build.

Even though it's cross-classed you may want to try to find the points for UMD.

Ranger UMD @ 20:

11 ranks + 6 cha (assuming 22 with +6 item) +6 shroud item = 23

23 + 4 GH = 27

27 + 5 ranger skill boost = 32

IIRC, Halfling size penalty is dependent on the size of the creature against whom the intimidate check is being made. Halflings are classified as small, while the rest of the player races are medium. There's only a -1 penalty in cases where a small creature is intimidating a medium. The -4 you're referring to only applies to some red-named bosses because they're classified as giant or huge or gargantuan or something.

A halfling is a small creature, so has a -4 penalty against nearly everything in-game bigger than a kobold. Against someone like Sulumedes or Harry or the Hound, said halfling is going to have a -16 as they are all 'Gargantuan' in size.
The SRD has the following text regarding size categories and Intimidate (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/intimidate.htm)
Special

You gain a +4 bonus on your Intimidate check for every size category that you are larger than your target. Conversely, you take a -4 penalty on your Intimidate check for every size category that you are smaller than your target.

There's a chart of the size categories in the SRD as well.. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/movementPositionAndDistance.htm
about half-way down the page.

I wasnt putting that into calculations, but, at the same rate, I also wasnt including skill boost either, so, that counters out pretty well.

As for the UMD...I probably could drop spot for UMD, but i do love my spot...

hm. Guess thats somethin i need to figure out quick. Thanks Shyv ^^

Appreciate the help guys.

As for level/feat progression, hows this sound:

1.Ranger-Least Dragon Mark
2.Fighter-Khopesh
3.Ranger-Dodge
4.Paladin
5.Paladin
6.Ranger-Lesser Dragon Mark
7.Paladin
8.Fighter-Imp.Crit Slash
9.Ranger-Greater Dragon Mark
10.Fighter
11.Fighter-Mobility
12.Ranger-Spring Attack
13.Ranger
14.Ranger
15.Ranger-Toughness
16.Ranger

Late on toughness, but, cant be helped. Spring taken the level before tempest is available, and made it so i could actually use my leveling khops, lol.

I like spot on my characters too. :) But keep in mind that at level 11 ranger you get 1 3rd level spell and those aren't great spells at all. So you can take Wild Instincts as your spell and that gives you a +10 spot and listen.

Just food for thought.

You could always try to get a +2 Int tome to have for a snack at Lvl 1 to free up some additional points for UMD...
