Robert Asprin the writer of the Myth series, the Phule series, and co-editor/creator of the Thieves World series passed away a couple of days ago. He was found by a fellow SCA member when he was to be picked up to visit a convention. He apparently died peacefully with a sci-fi novel on his lap.
I think I have only one of my favourite authors left amongst the living :(

I read the Myth and Phule's Company series. Great reads and funny as hell. I recommend them to anyone who enjoys a good laugh while reading.

ok now I'm majorly depressed. I loved his stories. This has been a bad year for losing great minds. 3 great Sci Fi authors and Gary Gygax :(

Yes, I heard about this on Friday. Here is a link (http://www.mythadventures.net/)to his web site for anyone who may be interested.
I became a fan of his with the first of the "Theives World" books.

It's very upsetting that we keep losing such great minds.

His love of the absurd is what i enjoyed most about both the Phule and Myth series. When I need something light to read I can count on his books to make me smile.

Yeah, that is really a shame. I guess it should have ocurred to me that he was getting up there in age. I was a huge fan of the Myth series though it definitely lost a lot of steam after Mythnomers and Impervections.... Really sad that the Myth series kinda of just fizzled out... Certianly not quite as frustrating as Robert Jordan's untimely passing.
