Always wanted to play a Thief-Acrobat, and now that I have the character slots to do it, I'm revisiting it. Here's what I've come up with, tell me what you think:

18/2 Warforged Rogue Monk, TA-, probably as such:

16 Str - Raise at 4, 12, 20
16 Dex - Raise at 8, 16
14 Con
12 Int
10 Wis
6 Cha

Feats:
1) Toughness
2) [Monk] Two Handed Fighting
3) Dodge
4) [Monk] Mobility
6) Spring Attack
9) Improved Two Handed Fighting
12) Improved Critical: Bludgeon
15) Greater Two Handed Fighting
18) Uh... tough....ness? Weapon Focus Bludgeon? Really not sure on the last.

Rogue feats will be, likely, Crippling strike, Imp Evasion, and possibly skill mastery.

Originally I had my WIS at 12, rather than Int, but I swapped it under other advisements.

Monk, for those that might ask, is for the feats and enhancements, AC is a minor, secondary concern, as this, very obviously, will have crappy AC at endgame =p.

Warforged, of course, is for two things: immunities and Warforged THF.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Posting at work, so, I can't give you your typical readout.

Have you weighed the differences between 19/1 and 18/2? Take a look. Rogues receive some benifits at lvl 19. Not sure what monks get at lvl 2, might be bettr one way or the other.

edit: Oh, and why raise dex with lvl points?

edit 2: WF+THF+PA=happy dps'r Think PA!

19 rogue is a rogue feat and +1d6 Sneak Attack..

2 Monk is one Monk feat.. in my assassin's case I went 19/1.

Yeah, I probably can sneak PA in, I was -seriously- thinking about it too. I'm just not sure I'll have the to-hit to make it really good, but... then again...

THF, Rogue, WF, PA = fun sounding >> <<

Dex up with level is for damage, actually (TA gets dex to Qstaff damage), along with a bit better of saves and bonus to the couple skills that Dex would be useful for. The same effect really could be done with strength, I suppose, and yeah, I guess my dex is really high enough for it to not matter. I'll look into that one deeper.

I did weigh the differences, though, and found I liked the extra monk level better, if only for leveling purposes; having feats to start makes it a LOT more bearable to me to play. Plus? Yeah, the extra d6 of SA is nice, but really I'd only be taking skill mastery again for my rogue feat, so imho that's not all that worth it. Also, 2 monk gives wisdom and way-of enhancments (probably would go hound for the flanking bonus to hit, then flip it if my to hit is high enough later).

I was also actually thinking about tossing on one more level of monk, too, since level 18 for rogue doesnt give anything for a thief acro besides trap sense (no TA3 =( ), so, that would also give me fists of light too, as well as still mind. Not sure about that, though.

A friend of mine has an 11 rogue/9 (dark) monk.. watching that build deliver touch of death is.. impressive..

Attacking while moving isn't as big of a deal as it used to be -- I'd drop Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack and pick up Power Attack.
For stats, I'd go with something more like 14/16/16/10/10/10 (22/32/26/18/18/12 at end game - assuming +2 tomes, etc. - dex could go to 36 with a +3 tome and +9 tod ring)

Since you dropped 3 feats and picked one up, there is now room to drop Monk completely. And get the +4d6 SA rogue capstone.

You should be around 470hp with the upgraded IQ docent (Quorforged Docent (http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s220/jgould2005/DDO/Unlimited/Items/Docents/QuorforgedDocentofBattleUpgraded.png)), a shroud Item and minos legens. The thing that I like about that docent is that you can put a min II hat on since it frees up your head slot, as well as using the belt for something non-hp related.

The problem, Eld, with that is I actually like the monk benefits XD

Between monk finishers, enhancements and all the rest, and being a bit of a feat whore, I really like monk where it is. However, you are right, I could drop dodge/mob/spring, and, perhaps instead, go with something more like PA/Cleave/GC. Cleaving with sneak attacks always was a fun toy, the first time I tried a str rogue, granted, thats what the thf is for.

Really, attack bonuses are my main concern, though, until the higher levels anyway. Honestly, I'd be all over something like you posted if qstaves were finessable, too, but, with only +6 to hit off of str, and 15 from levels, I'd looking to only be hitting on the 4th hit on anything I'm not flanking/SAing when it comes to the highest levels.

I guess that's another reason I like monk; an extra attack bonus, plus a stance to help out one way or another, coupled with a flanking bonus, should give me the boost I need to be more reliable, especially during level.

Plus...meh, capstones. I have a hard time playing melee pures, to be honest. Hence why Iocaine and Aislynn are my only pure classes, XD
