Yep, I'm talking about them again on the main boards. :D

I had some more thoughs about improving the Iron Companions line of enhancements.
So right now, in order to take the Mithral Companion enhancement, you first have to invest into the Iron Defenders, and Steel Defenders. That'd be all fine and good, except the Iron Defender is all but pointless in higher level content (though really, the Mithral Defender has pretty much become that way too) and it's basically a waste to even summon it. So, I got to thinking, maybe there should be a way of skipping the Iron Defender enhancement. I really only thought about it in terms of the Rogue's Way of the Mechanic (WotM), but I suppose the same could be applied to taking higher ranks in the repair enhancements as well.
Anyway, a rogue that takes WotM would then be able to jump right to taking the Steel Companion enhancement (assuming they meet all other requirements). A rogue that takes WotM II, would be able to jump right to Mithral Companion enhancement. Actually, considering how underpowered WotM II feels right now, I'd suggest letting it jump right up to whatever companion comes after Mithral, be it Adamantium, Shrieking (from Discord in Gianthold), or even some cool material like Byshyk, Cold Iron.
And speaking about materials for new Iron Companions, I had an interesting thought beyond mere materials. Iron companions powered by Elementals. An air infused defender could be slightly faster, and do electric damage. An earth infused would spew acid and have a high DR. Maybe water infused would cast cure spells every so often. And so on and so forth. I think these should come as a set personally. Take an enhancement, and get the ability to summon all of them. But since you can only have 1 at a time, you'd just have to choose carefully which one is best for the situation.
