View Full Version : Twilight Forge/Titan Awakes Learning Run

Heya folks,
A couple of peeps have asked to learn how to do the Titan and I am gonna run a/couple of instructional runs. I prefer the 9 man short man run as it is easier to get a handle on, and then the folks who are learning can see the green puzzle and the purple side in the same run.
While I am waiting for Jules/Galvis to get back to me bout timing I am going to post a couple of titan resources here.
K
Look me up. Not because I need to learn it :D but because that belt defies all odds of NEVER coming up.

I've run the Titan enough that I suppose I should pay a little more attention and try to start learning it...

As mentioned in the other thread, I can help people learn the green side although if people really want to do it we should go for bridge completion so they know what to do

In the last two weeks of the grind we have seen:
Gloves x1
Ring x 2
Belt x 2
I gave the gloves away(was on Del) and the other items treated me like the plague.

Don't forget that the gloves came up for Level the one night too

I think the titans finally learned to stop trying to hold onto his loot and just give it up, since were getting it eventually one way or another

Guybroosh has the ring and the gloves now. Just really needs the belt like everyone else...

lets see, Tomine has the ring, the gloves, the belt, both armors, the cloak, and the axe I believe. The only thing I might be interested in is the boots.
...I think Ive run that raid too much

Ooooh, that's right! I wouldn't say no to the boots either...

Last time Tarma was in there she managed to pull the ring. This is very good timing as we have a guild raid scheduled for the Titan on Saturday :)

Another option Jules, if yah are interested is I could tag along on your run as "Coach" or "Consultant" if yah would like. Pretty sure I ran the robot with yah at least once whilst you were running with your previous guild.

Well last time I ran Titan I was on Boozer and the belt dropped for me... VERY tempted to keep it, but I gave it to one of the Tanks in the grp that I enjoyed running with. Don't even remember his name... But he was cool, and had a good attitude. Oh Well.
<sigh> I'm getting sick of signing my posts.. going to have to work on Sig.

So shoot me... just remembered that Friday Night is out... If we can do the run on Saturday night, I would love it.... I have to go drink beer and take my buddies money in poker... lol.. work, work, work.

That might be a better option - we can short man with highbies then take our time so I can get the mechanics down.
This way I can join in the TS run tomorrow night.
Yes I do recall that - it was my first time in the Titan (didn't you have to get assistance from a significant other during the puzzle part???)

Yah I did have to call on the SO for the puzzle on Green. I am in much better shape with the raid now.
For a long time I was simply the Twilight Forge logistics guy, making sure that we had everything we needed to get through the forge(including red and green puzzlers). Recently I have picked up my game and learned how to do the puzzles.
I have called the Titan encounter itself for well over a year. There are a few other folks that I will let call it from time to time, but I almost always have to turn my mute button on so I shut the heck up.
I will likely be able to bring whatever your guildies need to the titan, I have 7 toons flagged, though I would prefer to keep my ranger back for my "3-day grind group."
So you can pick between wiz, sorc, cleric, bard, lowbie rogue, and battlemage as need be.

well with the Yellow crystal trick unless they fix that the bridges wont be too hard, I think even directionally challenged Xan should be able to handle them.... probably

Bah. Green is not that bad if yah pay attention, now that I have started to pay attention. The key is not to rush if you want to complete the whole thing.

Tell me about it.
I'm at 39 completions on Ardency and have 0 titan loot because ALL I want on her is the belt. One more and at least I can see if it (maybe) drops in her 20 end reward list.
I have a guild officer who has completed 60 times and has never had the belt drop or show up in a 20 end reward list.
60 times. Despair.

grr most of my guildies aren't flagged for this - going to have to postpone it for a week. If thats ok with everyone grrr

how do people not get flagged for the titan? Yeah the 3 quests needed are a little out of the way, but by high levels theyre a breeze and you only have to do them once.
As for the belt, while it is a great item I would say the boots or the ring are also just as good. After 40 runs youve never got either of those?

In 39 runs, the boots have never dropped for anyone in party. The ring has never dropped for anyone in party. The gloves have never dropped (Ardency is a rogue 13/paladin 3) for anyone in party. The belt has dropped once but went to someone else.

I took 2 guildies through the flagging, we pugged the other 3 spots for hips and slavers. The peeps that joined us - 2 lvl 16's and a level 14 - none of whom had done this on those particular characters. Made me feel a smidge better that my guys hadn't done it at lvl 12 or lvl 15
In ghola fan we had another guildie join us as someone dropped. I was able to bring my lvl 8 rogue through both quests, so at least Skitty is flagged. A couple were glad someone was able to explain everything step by step in getting there and advancing the quests - all raid flagging can be a little complicated for the first time.
I do have a fabulous map of the restless isles that I'd like to post if I can figure out how.

Easiest way is to create a photobucket account, upload your file, and then link to it with the [ img ] tag automatically created for you by photobucket. :)

on more thats 50 runs, I saw all loots dropping.
On new loot system, I saw more tomes that before, and saw the most important loots drops too (belt, gloves, mask, boots - and I lost this /cry)
but saw a lot of Bravos drops.

Definitely seems like Bravo Sword, Bereavement and the Nullcloth Gown drop a lot...

after the seeker change Bereavement isnt that bad anymore. Its still a little weak for raid loot, but theres worse stuff out there

Caution - Thread necro...
Any interest in trying to get some House T Titan runs going with the Shroud dead? A lot of the items that drop here are still usable - at least to me...
And some time I will try to have the patience to learn the puzzles...
I want, no need, no CRAVE the chatering ring and Belt on Shyv. If there is room, and I'm on, I'd be down for it.

The old HouseT titans were on Thursday nights.. that would work for me ..
The only question for me is who to bring :)
Level is still looking for the belt (29 completions)
Brizavin is looking for the belt, the ring and the gloves (she hasn't been there at all yet and I only got around to flagging her last night :))
84 is looking for all 3 as well.

I’m definitely interested in doing some learning runs not only on the Titan but also the other GSI loot runs.
It is getting kind of old being left behind and having to have some one come back and hold my hand to lead me to the chests.
Even this whouldn’t be so bad if it was Suzee once and a while but I keep getting some dirty old man like Doli or Xan.:p
I guess I’m saying that I’m tired of being the little brother running behind saying “Guys wait for meeeeeeee!!!” :(

sorry Sham, I think that comes from when we used to run the titan twice a week and just got to the point we all knew the quest and knew what we were supposed to do so we could beat it without needing to coordinate anything. Occasionally we forget there's other slayers who don't have 30+ titan kills

Just thirty Tomine?
LOL
Yah I really need to slow down in there these days. Its a pure zergathon. I often forget folks are not as comfortable in there, and on other runs as I am.

Like many Legion members, I have had no luck with the Titan.
I really don't care for the raid for many reasons, but primarily the raid loot drop rate. Each of my toons is Titan flagged by level 10 and thus have run it about 30 times. Yes, that's much less than most, but I don't like it or understand a few parts, so I just follow along and don't get raid loot.
So why run it over and over and over again?
I usually end up going on a cleric or wizzy to help people out that really want it.
I have 4 melee types that have gone proably about 10 times in total because everyone else seems to know it better and want the loot more.
I was hoping to learn it someday, but when you run with Ren or Fully or Drak or most of the legion guys, they want to get er done in 10 minutes or less, miss out on their raid loot and get back on timer asap.
And I will be damned if I will be the guy that will say... "Hey you zerging freaks, wait for a second so I can figure out what's going on."
I would rather just run along aimlessly for a few minutes, heal a few people or cast a few hastes and then get onto a raid I understand or like.
YOu know.. Like the Shroud.

Red Puzzle Solution
This is a solution to the red side that does not need any particular class, just 3 people who have UA items.
Three players are designated A, B , C. Class does not matter.
1) A pulls lever and B swims through gate to the left.
2) B pulls lever and A+C swim through gate straight ahead.
3) A swims to the left and pulls lever. C goes through gate on the right.
4) C pulls lever, A goes through gate that opens(lower gate) and grabs key. C pulls lever again. A swims out.
5) A pulls lever and C swims out.
6) A unlocks door, pulls lever C swims back through the first gate.
7) C pulls lever, B swims out.
8) A pulls lever, B+C swim through.
9) A pulls lever to the far left of this room. C swims through.
10) C pulls lever and B swims through gate nearest lever that A is on.
11) A pulls lever and C swims to A.
12) B pulls lever and both C and A swim through.
13) C pulls lever and A swims through gates until he reaches multicolored lever.
14) A pulls multicolored lever FTW.

Ya, I've been in that quest 3 times, one time right after people first figured out how to beat it and the 2 time I just did recently with GSI. Having had a history of being in smaller guilds ment I had to PuG alot. I got burned on some raid loot in an early raid when I got pick up by a guild group to solo rogue VoN 5, that kind of turned me off of raiding till after the loot system was changed. To me most of the raid loot is just not worth the amount of effort it took for me to aquire it, so I have not run that many raids. Hence I do not know the raids as well as I do most of the quests in this game.
