** +14 max dex for warforged rogue/ranger (18+3tome+4lvls+3enh+9shroud item+1Litany (http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s220/jgould2005/DDO/Items/LitanyoftheDead.jpg)=38)
+ WarForged Composite Plating has a +2 armor bonus, so you only gain +6 Armor bonus from a pair of +8 bracers.

Mithril increases the Max Dex Bonus by 2, Reduces Skill Penalty by 3, Mithril for most armor reduces the armor type by 1 class (eg Medium to light) and Reduces Arcane Spell Failure by 10%

Darkleaf increases the Max Dex Bonus by 1, Reduces Skill Penalty by 1, reduces the armor type by 1 class (eg Medium to light) and Reduces Arcane Spell Failure by 5%

NB: when selecting an armor type to look for be aware that if you reach medium encumbrance your max dex bonus will drop to 3 (including when wearing robes).

Um, it seems to me your max dex/AC for robes and WF are off. By my count the maximum dexterity for an elf/drow HL is 40 with a +2 exceptional bonus shroud weapon - Dex AC 15. WF lack the starting 20 and racial dex enhancements so it maxes at 36, so 13 Dex AC.

I knew I forgot to change something back .. I have this chart in my character planner spreadsheet - and filled in +20 as the max dex for those since they'll be, in effect, not restricted..

Not trying to be nit pick but the WF total is off.

From this table you can see 30 dex is the break point for robes vs. armor with easy to find +6 AC bracers. 26 if you can find some +8s. Of course fighter enhancements change this around a bit, but it's a decent rule of thumb.

I think its a typo Vic, he meant 24 instead of 34 just from looking at the math. I was actually think the same thing at first before I took a closer look, since that WF armor just seemed insanely high

edit: i think the WF math is correct now .. added the note regarding the innate +2 Armor Bonus for WF Composite Plating and cleaned up some typos.

Updated Dex and WF numbers to include a bonus from the Litany of the Dead (http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s220/jgould2005/DDO/Items/LitanyoftheDead.jpg) trinket -- assuming you can pry it from the Abbots cold, dead fingers ..

Question: I was reading through the table footnotes on the max dex for a WF ranger/rogue and noted that you started the Dex at 20...what am I missing there? Shouldn't it start as an 18 max?

another copy-paste error .. if you add those numbers up, they come to 40, not 38.. so the +14 in the table, and the 38 max dex sum are still accurate.
