I've been thinking about organizing a group to power level new toons from 1st to 16th level sometime in the next couple of weeks. Maybe throw in the goal of reaching 1750 favor as well to keep it from being just an XP grind? I'm guessing 12-16 hours a day over a three-day weekend?
Is anyone interested in trying to do this?

Even if I had the time (I don't), power levelling isn't fun for me right now. Just feels like a grind.
Sorry. If you'd posted this 6 months ago I'd have probably signed up. :(

Yeah I agree, been there done that. Currently with my lowest toon, Dysalia, she is now lvl 14, and I am in no rush and have been in no rush to get her to 16. When mod 8 comes out, I will roll a new toon for the new player experience, and will also not rush that one. It's not to say I go super slow either, but it is weeks instead of days to get to 16. I enjoyed with Dysalia two/three/four manning quests wiht good friends. Not having a cleric for the most part until Giant hold, made things more of a challenge, but one that I enjoyed. Using different strategies, like sneaking my way through quests co6 (which I hadnt done in lord knows when), was a big part in what made leveling her fun and not a grind.

Actually I've been trying to string my new characters out over the 3-12 range so I can play with some of the new people I've been hanging with lately. With 5 level 16 characters and only one not capped the power leveling doesn't have much appeal to me either right now. More into just having fun at any level, I just need to have characters in the right level range.
The only time I知 into power leveling anymore is when I知 working a re-build and I want the character back up to were he was before the re-build.

Exactly.. my problem is that my characters either languish around level 5 or they take my interest and I get obsessed with how they'll build out. I was all about leaving Pants in the mid-levels until I got there.. so now I'll have capped toon #4 and have to try again to park a character in between there and 5th.

I find that I need to get a character somewhere between level 7 and 12 before I know if I got the build the way I wanted or even if the build is what I wanted the character isn't really what I want to play.
When we get these long periods where more and more characters get level capped that's when I'll start to look at my capped characters and start thinking about re-building them. Right now there haven't been any game changes that affect my capped characters and with all the accumulated raid loot I find it harder to justify a re-build.
I may re-build Scortchem one of these days as a 32 pt. or drow with a 20 starting CHA. For right now I知 happy with the way he is so I keep him around as is for now.

I'm not sure I'm actually going to try it, but I have been giving the idea some thought. I am finally able to reroll some of the toons on my original account and I'm not looking forward to another 6-8 months of lowbie grinding, especially with (hopefully) 2 new mods coming out. It would also be a challenge of sorts. Not quite a 2-man Hound or Visions run, but ...

If this winds up happening this weekend, I have a couple babies (well, level 2's) that I wouldn't mind power-levelling. I've only got one capped char on Thelanis any more and it would be great to have another one or two.

Well..
I've done this :)
When I returned from my hiatus and needed to make all new toons, I built my cleric Sissee over a couple long days... it was fun I must say... but man, I was so fried by day 3...

Level 12.2 on my new cleric Sicily (born Nov 6/8) .. should be maxed by this Sunday, and tonight she'll do her first Shroud :)

I hit level 15 with Pantalaimon.. during a bizarre busted shroud where we wiped in part 4 (I was last to die.. I charged Harry all by myself once the group wiped :)), another cleric had Death Pact, so we beat part 5 in an epic waste of mnemonic pots and scrolls.. and then agreed not to take another crack at part 4. No completion... but you could craft so long as you remembered to avoid Part 4.
Can't wait to go back.. the blades are a bummer but evasion is great around those delayed blast fireballs.. got all my ingredients ready for tiers I & II.. just need shards...

There is a possibility that a zero to hero run might end up happening over the Thanksgiving weekend. If anyone is interested ...

I could have significant time depending on the SO's status...
I'd have to catch up with you around Level 5 though - I'm out of character slots...

Papi!!! I just recognized you. now for a topic based comment, some guildies and i have figured out a fairly precise powerlevel method. 25-30 hrs of actual quest time should get a toon capped. once you hit 10 and gianthold it gets way easy but the real key is to not leave the harbor until lvl 4. first time bonus xp and highest level party member are so important here. dont be that lvl 3 in a 3-6 quest, be the 6. durks, butchers, ringleader, info, and waterworks. solo-elite will get you level 4. then stk-tangleroot (could throw in a redwillow or even some stormcleave here) then deleras, gwylands, tear of drakhan, co6. hammer these out once each on each difficulty, bearing in mind that your level is the top level. add xp for explorers in tangleroot and sorrowdusk. and you are lvl 9-10. enter gianthold where the easy starts. leave the big 3 for later. party wipes do not gain you xp. with a comfortable group explore gianthold, the desert, do the dq prereqs, explore the haven and orchard. then do the big 3 gh quests, and take them all to elite. enter the vale.... if u dont level fast after that you just arent trying.

The idea behind zero to hero is twofold: achieve level 16 and 1750 favor. The method you describe is a good start to both goals, but for those that might be considering it, it's not just a zerg to get capped. (Um, 'get capped', that doesn't sound quite right). Anyway :)

oh, definately. the method i put down is a 900 favor run..... nt even close to 1750 :) i did forget to mention the vons in the breakdown *silly me* a very nescessary part of the 7-10 rise.

Hey Thor - long time, no group... I miss the good ol' days back when the Lvl cap was still 10... ;)

I might actually be up for this. Although I really can't think of a class that I want to make. I know I don't have a full account and plenty of room for some more but I dunno, nothing really stands out to me as to what to make.

Sorry I didn't see your post sooner Braegan. I'm still looking for a few folks and a time to get this going. This weekend didn't work out for the couple of guildies that were going to join the madness.
