Face it,cleric is already the easiest class to solo, now with death pact,i can even afford mistakes...Beautiful!I think i'll roll another one :D
But in all seriousness, with the new cleric spells, changes to enhancements and whatnot,i don't know of a better class to solo.Get a hireling, make him do the dirty / unpleasant work without so much as having to thank him and reap the benefits :D
I think imma love this lol

With a hireling, your party is already 3-deep since you get your troll/efreet too..
Add in a symbol of persuasion and you become a Master of Many!

I have a feeling that we'll be seing a lot of cleric/multi-class characters in the near future of DDO.

to be fair, it is an 8th lvl spell and requires its own component.. so you're still a cleric first :)

I think Vivane just became my new favorite solo character.

I'll have to think about the level progression..
So,the new spell is a lvl 8 spell, meaning multi-class are going to get it later. This has always been a problem when facing the choice ; do i multiclass to max out efficiency now and possibly have to reroll down the road or do i plan safely and stay pure?..
I decided to stay pure only for the fact there is no real purpose in multi-classing a cleric in my opinion.I have close to 400 hp and 1825 sp atm.Ac is irrelevant since i can heal, other skills?I don't know what i'm missing on my cleric that a multiclass would get...
So,i'll stay pure cleric and when mods come out,I never have to worry about re-rolling or complain the next mod is too far and i'm unable to get certain level spells...It sucks to wait to get spells while leveling but it must truely suck more to have them implemented but having to wait the next level cap to take it...Rinse and repeat with every mod :D

well.. to be honest, I won't be using Death Pact... -2 to constitution is a lot heavier than the fluke chance that my cleric might die...
But I will say... the cleric is a good solo class to play but I'll say that my sorc is way better at soloing...

The -2 con only triggers after the pact, so if it raises you you take the penalty until you shrine. As for me, I won't be using it often since it has such an expensive component on a spell that would vanish whenever you enter a quest and probably by any creatures dispell magic. At most I see it as nifty for raids like the Hound or Shroud where one bad roll can get a cleric killed fast and leave the party trying to recover. Also Im curious about the exact mechanics of the trigger, does it auto-rez you or give you the choice? Namely if you get killed in the reaver with that spell on, will it rez you in the lever room.
Hmm, I sense abuse
Just imagine...my clogue now would be the best thing ever, all the soloing I could do :D Just sneak around ,throw up a persuasion...lose some locks...get some extra treasure chests. CLOGUE FTW!!!!

I had it kick in on the way to Gargamel last night - ate a DBF from a living spell -- it gave me the 'Zhelda would like to Raise you' text with the yes/no option.
Perhaps I'll step into the Reaver tonight when I get on and see what it does there.
On the components part - it's only 900gp each for my rogue to buy them.
The extra HP Zhelda got from Toughness Enhancements more than makes up for the -2 con. 334 running around town and 318 with Death Pact on -- is much better than the 285 she was sitting at just last week :)
